[announcement] BolReturnedUclaID attribute will nolonger contain meaningful data 11/1
The following announcement was posted on the isis tech list on 10/23/2006
————————————————————————————————-
Hi all,
First, if you have never heard of BolReturnedUclaID, go ahead and ignore this message. =)
As some of you are aware, about 6 months ago, we added an attribute in ISIS named BolReturnedUclaID in the set of information we return in the VerifySession call. This attribute was added so that applications who required more up to date BOL ID/UID mapping information could retrieve it. With ISIS switching to use ED for user data, this attribute is now obsolete. The UCLA Logon engine writes the Logon ID/UID binding into ED in real time.
To improve performance, as of 11/1, CTS will stop sending this binding information to ISIS in its authentication protocol. As a result, beginning on 11/1, BolReturnedUclaID will always contain 000000000. The other UID fields willl work just fine.
In addition, we will be removing the attribute all together from the set of returned information in a future maintenance ISIS release. If you are currently using BolReturnedUclaID, please check your code to make sure you check other UID fields in the VerifySession response.
