UCLA AIS Middleware Infrastructure

AIS Middleware Infrastructure Home

The AIS Middleware Infrastructure (MI) Team develops and manages key UCLA enterprise identity management (authentication/authorization) middleware initiatives at UCLA. MI supported services include the Enterprise Directory, ISIS (web single Sign-on), DACSS (distributed access management), and a slew of other projects.

This site is the support portal for all MI managed projects.

If you're wondering what Middleware is, we've found an interesting presentation on the traditional role of middleware. A somewhat less entertaining, but more relevant read, is the Internet2 Middleware Initiative. The Internet2 middleware web site provides a wealth of information on the development, standards, and deployment of middleware projects at Internet2 universities. Much of our work parallels the effort described the Internet2 site.
